My Vision for Redmond

Redmond is at a turning point. We need leadership that doesn't just manage growth, but ensures that growth works for everyone who calls this city home. My campaign is built on the belief that a thriving city is one that is sustainable, inclusive, and affordable for the long haul.

🌱 Environmental Action & Waste Reduction

Our natural environment is Redmond’s greatest asset, and it’s time our policies reflected that.

  • The Single-Use Plastic Phase-Out: I will introduce a citywide ban on single-use plastics—including straws, cutlery, and take-out containers—to protect our waterways and reduce the microplastics hitting our soil.

  • A Fair Transition: We will work directly with our local small businesses to transition toward reusable or certified compostable alternatives while ensuring medical and accessibility needs are always met.

  • Community Composting: I want to expand our local programs to turn food waste into a resource, keeping it out of our landfills and putting it back into our land.

🚍 Transit That Actually Works

Reliable transportation is the backbone of a functional city. It connects us to jobs, education, and healthcare.

  • Reducing Gridlock: By investing in frequent, affordable public transit, we can cut down on traffic congestion and lower our local carbon footprint.

  • Accessibility for All: Whether you’re a student, a working parent, or a senior, your ability to get around Redmond shouldn't depend on owning a car.

🏠 Housing as a Right, Not a Luxury

We cannot be a "thriving" city if the people who work here can’t afford to live here.

  • Prioritizing Social Housing: I will champion the development of affordable social housing so that families and young people aren't priced out of their own neighborhoods.

  • Stability for Seniors: We need to ensure our long-term residents can age in place with dignity and security.

🤝 A Community Where Everyone Belongs

Redmond is stronger when we look out for one another.

  • Inclusion Matters: I stand firmly with our immigrant neighbors and 2SLGBTQ+ residents. My administration will ensure that every person in Redmond has safe, dignified access to the services they need.

  • Respect for All: No one should feel like an outsider in their own town. We are building a city where every neighbor is respected and supported.

👮 Safety Rooted in Trust

Public safety is about more than just response times—it’s about community health.

  • Addressing Root Causes: I will prioritise funding for mental health services, addiction recovery, and shelter insecurity.

  • Community-Centred Policing: We need to foster real trust between our residents and those who serve them, ensuring that safety means feeling protected, not targeted.
